It was back in 2014 that Computair released the first version of WebFAN, our fan selection software package. At that time we knew the future for software selection tools was going to be on the web and that has been seen to be true and it has become a fully blown cloud application.

As the leading global supplier of air handler software with our WinTADS product, back in 2014, we were finding that we needed better fan software support than supplied by black box DLLs from the fan manufacturers; so we released WebFAN1. It proved to be very successful so we then spent a few years conducting a lot of R+D to find if it could be used elsewhere which then led to the release of WebFAN2 in 2018 and which we provide today.

Whilst still supporting fans for AHUs, we found that WebFAN can assist any fan manufacturer providing anything from giant variable pitch axials in mining to high pressure gas movement in ‘petro-chems’. So with confidence, regardless of the fans use, our software can accurately select and rate it. As anyone who works in the air/gas movement industry knows, there is far more to a selector than just applying the fan laws and can be fundamental to boosting fan sales.
